Why the valve travels with the head

A shower is bought as an outcome, not as a parts list, so a retail programme, a hotel refurbishment or a builders merchant range usually needs the valve, the arm, the head, the hose and the holder to arrive together, in one finish, in one carton plan, on one invoice. Splitting that across two suppliers means two sample rounds, two finish approvals, two inspections and a finish mismatch that only shows up on the wall.

What a mixer programme actually contains

The word mixer covers several products that are quoted differently, so a good RFQ names them one by one. The list below is the usual content of a complete shower set, and the items a buyer forgets are almost always the small ones: the wall unions, the escutcheons and the fixing kit.

Each line needs its own finish and quantity, because a chrome valve with a brushed head is a common and expensive mistake. Say which items are packed together in a retail box and which ship in bulk to a site, since that decides carton design as much as it decides price.

Threads, centre distances and pressure

Three things cause most fitment complaints, and none of them is the head. The first is thread standard: G1/2 parallel thread is the de facto global shower connection and seals on a washer or a cone face, while North American shower arms carry 1/2 inch NPT tapered thread that seals on the threads with tape or sealant. The second is centre distance, the spacing between the two wall inlets of an exposed valve, which has to match the plumbing already in the wall.

The third is pressure. A valve that behaves correctly on a 3 bar mains supply can be unusable on a gravity-fed tank system, and a thermostatic cartridge has a stated working range outside which it will not hold temperature. State the destination market and the typical supply pressure in the RFQ, and ask for the working range in writing. It is much cheaper to answer this before tooling than after a container lands.

How a mixer project runs with ZHONGHE

Production then follows the same discipline as the catalog: inspection before packing, the water test of about 10 to 15 seconds on every finished head, 0.5MPa leakage checks in selected processes, and carton, label and quantity checks before sealing. MOQ ranges from 500 to 2,000 units depending on the model, finish and packaging; custom packaging from about 2,000 units, a new body follows the 15 plus 15 day design and roughly 60 day tooling guides, and certified options are available on request for the scopes a valve programme usually needs.
