How the stop button works and why it leaves a trickle
The stop button is a small push valve in the water path between the inlet and the spray face. Pressing it closes most of the path so the spray drops to a trickle; pressing again reopens it. Leaving a trickle is deliberate: a hand shower that shut the flow completely against a running mixer would pressure-lock the hose and valve, so the residual flow protects the plumbing. Buyers who want a true shut-off specify it at the mixer or with a hose-end valve.
