Why ACF rather than granular carbon

Water spends only a fraction of a second inside a shower cartridge, so the media has to work fast. Activated carbon fiber presents a far larger surface area per gram than granular carbon and holds its shape in a compact cartridge, which is why it is the chlorine workhorse in shower filters.
