What happens on the line
Molded parts, O-rings, filter media, cartridges, hoses and nuts arrive at the line as checked components. Operators build the unit in a fixed order: seals seated, chamber closed, face plate fitted, selector or button installed, cartridge loaded on filter models, connection nut fitted. The order matters, because most leaks in a hand shower are a seal that was pinched or missed rather than a part that failed.
Four lines run in parallel, which is what lets the plant list more than 3 million units a year. Each line ends at the water test, so a unit does not reach the packing bench until it has been through water.
The 100% water test, and what it proves
Every finished unit is connected to water and run for about 10 to 15 seconds. In that time the operator sees whether the unit leaks at the seals or at the nut, whether the spray face is fully open, whether the selector actually changes the pattern, and whether the stop button holds. Units that fail go back for rework or scrap rather than into the carton.
It is worth being clear about what this test does and does not do. It catches assembly faults on every single unit, which is where most field complaints come from. It is not a life test, it is not a pressure rating, and it does not replace the sampling checks below. A factory that describes its test in seconds and megapascals is telling you something checkable; a factory that describes it as strict quality control is not.
Sampling checks around the 100% test
Leakage checks at 0.5MPa are run in selected processes, above normal household supply pressure, to find seals that hold at working pressure but not with a margin. Flow is tested at 0.3MPa on selected specifications, which is the pressure a flow figure should always be quoted against; a litres-per-minute or gallons-per-minute number with no pressure attached cannot be compared between suppliers.
O-rings are 100% camera-inspected at the supplier before they arrive, because a deformed or undersized O-ring is the single most common cause of a slow leak and it is far cheaper to catch it in a component batch than in a finished unit. Salt spray is run on selected finishes. Cartons, labels, accessory bags and quantities are checked at the packing bench before sealing.
What an inspection visit or third-party inspector sees
A visitor on a normal production day can watch the molding shop, follow parts to a line, stand at the water test, and see the packing bench. Ask to see the rework area as well: how a factory handles the units that fail says more than how it handles the ones that pass.
Third-party inspection agencies are welcome at pre-shipment, and a full third-party factory audit is arranged per project. For buyers who cannot travel, the same route can be walked on a live video call.
