Colombian plumbing sits between two traditions. Pipe work and wall fittings often follow US practice with NPT tapered threads, while imported showers, hoses and mixers commonly arrive with BSP parallel threads, and both are found in the same city. Municipal water is treated and carries residual chlorine, and it is comparatively soft in the Andean cities and harder along the coast, so filtration sells on chlorine and sediment rather than on scale. A transparent filter head with a visible cartridge makes the case on the shelf without a claim, and the activated carbon fiber media ZHONGHE uses has shown 99.5% free-chlorine removal at the start of flow in the media supplier's SGS testing and 90.6% after 5 tons of water in the supplier's separate tests, both tests of the media rather than of a finished shower head.
