Stage 1: Define the Product Before You Contact a Factory
The most expensive mistakes in shower head sourcing happen before anybody quotes. Stage 2: Find and Verify the Factory
Two routes reach a Chinese shower factory: directly, or through a trading company or sourcing agent. Both work, and a good factory supplies the same substance either way, meaning spec sheets, samples, water and leak test notes, and packaging review. Going direct shortens the design conversation and removes a layer of message-passing; an intermediary adds consolidation, language support, financing, and a local counterparty to hold responsibility. Verification is about evidence rather than assurances. Ask whether the supplier owns tooling and molding capacity and can show injection machines and inspection stations. Ask them to walk you through the quality process step by step instead of saying "we inspect." Ask whether they can propose design solutions or only build to a drawing, and find out who answers your emails and whether that person can decide anything. A supplier who cannot describe their own process in order is probably running quality by instinct rather than by procedure. Stage 4: Lock the Specification and the Compliance Route
Materials and finishes come first because they set the price band. Stage 5: Release the Order and Agree the Quality Evidence
