ZHONGHE, a shower head factory in Cixi, Ningbo, China, supplies 304 stainless steel fixed and rain heads, multi-jet shower panels, and stainless face plates fitted to plated ABS hand shower bodies. 304 is chosen for corrosion resistance, a thin flat profile and brushed or PVD finishes. These items sit beyond the 96-model online catalog. MOQ ranges from 500 to 2,000 units depending on the model, finish and packaging.

Item | Detail
--- | ---
Grade | 304 (18/8, EN 1.4301) is the usual shower grade. 316 is quoted where a coastal, spa or pool environment is stated in the brief
Typical items | Slim square and round rain heads, ceiling heads, multi-jet shower panels, and stainless face plates on plated ABS hand shower bodies
Corrosion | 304 handles bathroom humidity and normal cleaning chemicals well. Salt spray hours are quoted against the specified finish rather than published as a blanket figure
Weight | A stainless face plate adds very little to an ABS hand shower. A full stainless rain head is much heavier and needs an arm and a wall fixing sized for it
Finishes | Mirror polished, brushed satin, and PVD in brushed nickel, gold, rose gold, gunmetal and black on the same plate
Nozzles | Punched or laser-cut nozzle fields in the plate; silicone nozzle inserts can be added so limescale rubs off
Catalog position | The 96 published models are chrome-plated ABS with PC transparent parts, and the catalog's stainless items are the double-lock shower hoses. Stainless heads and panels are supplied per project
Sourcing | MOQ ranges from 500 to 2,000 units depending on the model, finish and packaging; custom packaging from about 2,000 units. Every finished unit is water tested for about 10 to 15 seconds before packing

## What 304 does, and what it does not do

304 is the general-purpose austenitic stainless used for most bathroom hardware. It resists the water, steam and cleaning products of a shower room without a protective coating, which is the reason a stainless plate can be sold brushed and bare while a plastic or zinc part has to be plated. It is also strong in thin sections, so a 12 inch rain head can be made a few millimetres thick and still stay flat, which is the look most hotel and specification projects are buying.

What 304 does not do is stop limescale, raise pressure or make the water cleaner. Scale forms on any nozzle field regardless of the substrate, so a stainless face still needs a cleanable nozzle design or silicone inserts. 304 is also not immune everywhere: chloride-rich air near the coast, or a pool room, attacks it over time, and that is the case where 316 is worth quoting instead.

## The whole head, or only the face

There are two stainless products in this market and they behave differently. The first is a full stainless assembly: the face plate, the body pan and often the arm are steel, and the finished head is heavy, flat and cold to the touch. It suits fixed and ceiling installation, where the weight is carried by the wall or the ceiling, and it is what most large rain heads and shower panels are.

The second is a stainless face plate on a molded body. The plate gives the metal look and the flat face, and the body behind it stays light, so the product still works as a hand shower. This is how a hand shower gets a metal front without becoming too heavy to hold. Both routes are supplied by ZHONGHE per project; the choice is made on the sample, because the weight in the hand is the thing buyers argue about afterwards.

## Finish, fingerprints and cleaning in service

Mirror-polished stainless photographs beautifully and shows every water spot in a real bathroom. Brushed satin hides spots and fingerprints, so it is the finish most hotel operators ask for once housekeeping has been consulted. PVD sits on top of either one and widens the palette to brushed nickel, gold, rose gold, gunmetal and black, with a harder surface than a plated tone, at a higher price.

Ask for the cleaning instruction to be agreed at the same time as the finish. Chlorine-based cleaners and steel wool damage stainless, and the damage looks like a manufacturing fault when the complaint arrives. Putting one line about cleaning in the manual and on the packaging prevents a large share of after-sales cases, and it costs nothing to print.

## Specifying a stainless programme

State the grade, the plate thickness, the face size and shape, the nozzle type and pattern, whether silicone inserts are wanted, the finish, the arm or connection, the thread standard and the quantity per finish. G1/2 (BSPP, ISO 228) is the default connection, with 1/2 inch NPT and the S, G, K and M adapter set covering the other common fittings. Say which numbers will be printed on the box, because those are the ones that have to be measured on the sample rather than quoted from a datasheet.

A new shape follows the usual development guides: about 15 days of appearance design, 15 days of structure design, 60 days of tooling and 30 days of production. MOQ ranges from 500 to 2,000 units depending on the model, finish and packaging; custom packaging from about 2,000 units, and certified options are available on request. Everything is ZHONGHE's own product, inspected, water tested for about 10 to 15 seconds per unit and packed to the buyer's carton plan before it ships from Ningbo-Zhoushan.

## FAQ

### Does ZHONGHE make 304 stainless steel shower heads?

Yes. Slim stainless rain and ceiling heads, multi-jet shower panels and stainless face plates on molded hand shower bodies are ZHONGHE products supplied per project. They are not in the 96-model online catalog, which is the photo-documented plated ABS range, so ask for the current range file and a sample. MOQ ranges from 500 to 2,000 units depending on the model, finish and packaging.

### Is 304 or 316 better for a shower head?

304 is right for almost every indoor bathroom. 316 adds molybdenum and resists chlorides better, which matters beside the sea, in a pool hall or in a spa, and it costs more. Name the environment in the RFQ and the grade follows from it. Plate thickness and the available grades are confirmed per project.

### Will a stainless head stop limescale?

No. Scale forms from the water, not from the substrate, so a stainless face scales like any other face. What helps is the nozzle design: silicone nozzle inserts can be rubbed clean with a thumb, and a flat plate is easier to wipe than a deeply sculpted one. A filter head is a separate answer to a separate problem, and ZHONGHE makes no health or skin claim for any filter product.

### Does a stainless face plate make a hand shower too heavy?

Not usually, because only the plate is steel and the body behind it stays molded. A full stainless assembly is a different product and is meant for fixed or ceiling installation, where the wall carries the weight. If the programme is a hand shower, approve the weight on a physical sample before the packaging is set, since the carton weight also feeds the freight cost.

### What finishes can you put on stainless?

Mirror polish, brushed satin, and PVD in brushed nickel, gold, rose gold, gunmetal and black. Finish names cover visibly different tones across the market, so send a physical reference with the RFQ rather than a colour name, and approve the tone on a sample before artwork is printed. Salt spray hours are quoted against the specified finish.
