# R&D note: prototyping a finer shower mist without air intake

Our goal is the finest mist ZHONGHE has ever made. We are prototyping internal spray structures that make a finer mist from water pressure alone and comparing them in CFD and spray tests; shape and measured values stay private.

Alongside the models in production, ZHONGHE is developing the next generation of shower head spray structures. The current work aims at a finer, softer mist made from water pressure alone, without drawing in outside air (a non-air-intake design).

At the same flow, a finer mist tends to feel softer and to wrap the body more evenly. Making it finer by shrinking the outlets alone raises the risk of clogging and loses force on low household pressure, so the work focuses on the flow inside the head instead.

How we work: candidate shapes are compared with CFD (computational fluid dynamics), the promising ones are printed as SLA 3D-printed test discs, and each disc is sprayed under our standard condition (0.3 MPa before the nozzle, water at 38 °C) and photographed against a dark background. What we learn goes into the next round; as of September 2026 we are in the second prototype round.

What we do not publish: the internal shape, dimensions and measured values such as flow or droplet size stay private. Bubble generation is under evaluation and is not claimed. There is no launch or sample date yet; buyers interested in the new mist structure can ask for a development update. A Japanese version of this note is on zhonghejapan.com.
